Welcome to WitchingSecrets.com – your resource for learning Witchcraft and Wicca.
What Is Witchcraft All About?
It is amazing to note that even in today’s world, witchcraft is looked upon as something evil. People who follow this faith are often said to adore the devil himself. This is far from the truth. Just like in all facets of life, there are bad sheep everywhere; but that is no reason to label witchcraft as an evil.
Witchcraft and Wicca is actually a very gentle faith and can even be a lot of fun. People who practice this faith will never be standing in the streets trying to convince you to join in. They are happy with their faith and welcome anyone who wishes to join. You are given a chance to decide for yourself and you can take your time. Nor do you have to leave your existing beliefs behind. There is no pressure on you to join a coven and you may practice in your home whenever you find time.
The basis of witchcraft is nature and it goes hand in hand with nature rather than against it. It has nothing to do with black magic. No doubt it involves magic but it is the kind of magic that is generously available in the world. Witchcraft believes in doing no harm to any living being, no matter if it is a human, animal or plant. Witchcraft is nothing like what you see in the movies; a witch will not fly about on brooms nor do they assume another form or put life back into the dead.
So does that give you enough reason to adopt witchcraft? It doesn’t matter whether you want to adapt new beliefs or you are just inquisitive about spells, you need to know some fundamental facts. For example, studying about energy is emphasized in all occult practices. So if you are interested in witchcraft, you must know about energy. Everything in witchcraft is run on energy and emotion; it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner of witchcraft. A ritual minus the energy is like a vehicle without fuel.
Energy is everywhere and it constantly surrounds us. Energy is a force which holds the entire universe together. When you begin studying witchcraft, you will be required to spend some time daily to meditate, relax and feel the energy about you. Observe your breathing as you take in long and deep breaths. Breathing and meditating are great ways to generate energy.
Begin by building a set of magic tools. A good witch is required to have certain tools like a wand, a pentacle, an altar with a cloth, various herbs and candles of various colors among other items. All these are essential tools if one is to take up witchcraft seriously.
It is also extremely important for a new witch to learn about magickal correspondences. You are required to study the magickal correspondences of the days, hours, moon phases, elements, cardinal directions, crystals, herbs and so on. There are a lot sources online which help you learn about magickal correspondences for witchcraft. You may even begin by opening your book of shadows (a witches journal or diary) and noting down everything you learn. You don’t need to have a lot of experience for this. All you have to do is put down your thoughts, notes and dreams. Note down all you experiences and before long you might even find yourself writing spells and practising magick!
However, it gets easier if you get suitable witchcraft training. No doubt you can do it on your own too, but it’s easier when you find instructional material. If you get a teacher to continuously train you, the process gets faster and helps you concentrate on areas you require to understand better. Books are yet another source from which to learn and you can get plenty which provide you with superb training programs for beginner or advanced witchcraft.

how to connect to all this thing and how to become a witch?
Like any new interest, just read about it! You can take as long as you like to learn about it. The Dummies books give a good overview on Wicca and witchcraft. In the end some people ‘get it’ and some people don’t …. it’s a personal thing. If you want to start practicing the craft quickly, then get a copy of the Old Witchcraft recommended on this site which starts you off learning spells and understanding where your energy lies straight away. For some the practical approach is better than the theory.

jessie laymon
thanks
oh and im a guy just saying that cuz the name kinda passes me off as a girl some times but yah im a guy
Jessie, I cannot see why you need to hide this. It is not evil. It is spiritual. I can see why people are misled by the idea that we are somehow in league with the Devil, but actually the Devil is a Christian concept and we do not have such gods. You can of course use the art of witchcraft in an unwise manner, but most of us would not, in fact dare not for fear of reprisal by the law of three. Perhaps you could tell your mom you are interested in natural religion, a natural energy seeker – leave the wicca/witchcraft bit out for a while? As for books, if money is tight – visit the library. If they dont have anything (but i am sure they will) they will get in any book you like on order. Check Amazon reviews. You could buy second hand on Amazon. It is quite a long learning process but worth it. Juno
hi, i’m salena, and i’m 14. i just took a trip to Salem yesterday, it was my third time going but for some reason, this time really had an impact on me. going through all the stores and learning so much about the history and talking to someone who had practiced the craft influenced me so much. while there, i bought a spell book. and iv always been interested in this stuff ever since i was little. now, im really starting to think about practiceing. i have a pretty good understanding of the whole thing, but its so overwhelming because it’s so new to me. i would really really appreciate all the help and guidance i can get. i really want to do this, so if you could, i would love if you emailed me. salenamariee@yahoo.com thanks!
well, i have that problem with my parents. every one in my family happens to be christian…well except for one of my aunt’s she’s gehova witness, but i have another path d rather follow. im adopted so ive always been the odd ball anyway so not to mention the fact that those from my unknowns family may have been wiccan or pagan. so i have a few questions: Im a begginer with religous relatves with out a credit card, with out any help, what do i do? i still believe in God and as a matter of fact, i belive that magic was a gift to mortals before they abused it and made it a sin, will this scar me? i belive bad people do bad magic and good people harm none. if i have no wiccan n my blood, will i still be able to perform magic the same way? i have to keep every thing a secret for now, when do i free myself to just be me?
i think witchcraft is free and beautiful. and it doesnt always judge you for your actions like everyone else. but i still feel God knows things that those others don’t know about Wiccan witches and how it harms none . God created the universe and it’s elements, Wiccan are the only ones who happen to take Advantage of His creation. Sorry but i think im so confused with christain religions and every other kind of religion, i think i want to pick my own and give up baptist. those at my Chruch- at least half of them- dont abide by the book. live with a decond and I have never seen so much bad ass energy n one house hold. OH MY GOD YOU DONT KNOW WHAT HELL I GO THRU! lol
hey, isnt there such thing as christian wiccan?
I don’t understand why people knock Wicca and Witchcraft. Mostly it is becasue of the stereotypical stuff. My brother caught me watching a CharmingPixieFlora vid on YouTube (TipToeChick’s vids are FAB too) and burst out laughing becasue witches are ‘make believe’. Right……
Just have faith in your spirituality. It is a beautiful thing; nobody can tell you how to feel it, you just do, and you’ll know when everything’s good. P.s. I’m a solitary Wiccan, loving it! Sometimes I feel like I don’t give enough, but I’m pretty sure I@m on my way x
Blessed Be )O(
Hi I was wondering what book I should get to learn witch craft because I really want to learn and I have been wanting to learn for a while and I need help and the book I should get where can I find that book and can you give me a website I can go on to learn more about witch craft and can you give me more information about witch craft?
Vivian, you can start with wicca for dummies. It is inexpensive, often available second hand at Amazon and it gives a broad view of the wicca faith. If you read this and then think this is for you, come back and I will find something better for you afterwards.
Dijona, I have heard of people who can appreciate the two together, but I personally couldnt. Wicca is a belief in natural and spiritual forces, which could be ‘god’ to a Christian. But much deeper than that, there is no real Wicca “doctrine” to follow, there are a few rules of course. Be nice to others or at least do them no harm, practice however you want, when you want, observe the sabbats, no need for churches or houses of god to praise in, our god and goddess are everywhere and in all things we see, as they are nature and the entire universe we inhabit. We can make charms and spells for the good of all, and I truly love my tools and personal wicca effects. I personally think the whole world should become wiccan, there would be a lot less conflict, fear and angst in the world – it is liberating and beautiful.
We can be blessed and bless in return. With Love Juno
This is great as it will be a very useful resource for me. Covers the fundamentals that everyone should know (even if we don’t always want them to) IMO, there are a few items that are missing or could be expanded upon, but over all a very useful
hi guys, speaking from a witch from the uk, Here we get just as much persecution as the rest of the world
No matter where we go,if there is a christian we are branded satanists, devil worshippers ect.
But like i say to them, waas it not you who taught to turn the other cheek? We embrace there religion, but they deny ours. As i have pointed out to them, many of their beliefs is based on our pagan religion for example, most of their holidays have been taken from the pagan sabbats.Witchcraft is honouring the seasons of life death and rebirth,a path we all most take in life, Honouring the god and goddess and respecting all around us.
I just smile at them and pass by, knowing my goddess and god are beautiful and harrowing both at the same time. They are not evil. Besides, the devil was a creation of the christian faith!
Also Knowing that there is no such thing as black/white magick it is grey, because it belongs in the heart of the witch.
Studying magick is a life long thing, It takes everything written in the rede and much more,
I would personally recommend the books, a year and a day in magic cassandra eason or, the witches handbook Kate west.
I hope this is of help to you, Bright blessings to you all

Juno, I need advice on finding my Wiccan name. I tend to not sleep well and normally not dream. I was informed that our true name will normally come to us in dreams bit by bit, but I have had no success in this so far. What other ways can I find my true Wiccan name? I also was wondering if there are any good movies on the Wiccan beliefs. I have an assignment in my World Views class that requires a world view explaination that includes a movie, and I wanted to use a movie that showed the real Wiccan beliefs, sort of a documentary or really thorough movie. Do you have any suggestions for me?
Christy

Hi Juno,
Im Kayleigh and I am 14! Iv been reading up on the religion and I am currently learning the symbols and alphabet. But I wondered if you could give me some imformation on the elements? You see I know alot about the middle ages and the witches of them times (My ancestor was a witch), but I havnt really found anything on elemental powers.
Many Thanks and Kind Regards
Kayleigh x
i do not think the people should judge you for what you belive in and od harmeful things to you im named after awitch named abigai lfae and i like to here my mom tell my the storie about how i got that name i am becoming a witch and it is verry fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Cathreen, not you dont have to be borne of a witch to study wicca. If it is calling to you – go to it – but always use it for good, never use the craft with bad feeling. J
Kayleigh, are you wanting guidance about your chosen element or do you just want to know general info? http://www.ehow.com/video_4805894_element-wicca.html watch Sandra (boring ad at the start for 30 seconds) she has a lot of great videos about practical wicca things. Then there is this site which expands on the elements in a bit more detail http://www.wicca.in/the-wiccan-elements/
